We had an exciting night's sailing in winds stronger than originally forecast at 25-30 knots.
With our full main up and spinnaker we topped boat speeds of 19 knots and averaged around 12 knots. The stiff strong running conditions overnight under a brilliantly lit moonlight sky kept the crew on their toes, especially our momentary pause in progress when we had a spinnaker wrap to untangle from which we recovered fairly quickly.
This morning we are off Crowdy Head and the wind has settled down to a consistent south wester of around 15-20 knots.
The crew is well and looking forward to the rest of the journey north.
